Cooking in the Classroom
This time of year, when it is a little bit too chill to be outside, I love experimenting with different recipes! I think cooking with children is so valuable and fun! Depending on what you have access to in your classroom, cooking may vary, but there are many non bake items, that you can try! I like making no-bake energy balls. This link has a few excellent recipes (https://www.blessthismessplease.com/8-no-bake-oatmeal-energy-balls/) This activity does not only make a yummy treat, but it exposes children to measuring, kitchen safety, clean-up and a variety of foods. This also is a fine motor task, which I believe is SO important for all ages! As a teacher, you can incorporate many different lesson plans into whatever baking/cooking activity that you choose.
